I am writing this article today in memory of our beloved pet Tashoba. Tashoba was our wolf/shepherd pup, barely 4 months old, that loved us and played with our cat. It was so funny to watch these two as the cat would pounce and chase Tashoba. Unfortunately, I had to put her down due to the ignorance of others.
Someone called the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and told them out of ignorance that we owned a wolf. Two very nice and professional Game Wardens came to the house to investigate the complaint and found that although our hybrid wolf was very high content, that because she was not pure bred, that she was legal.
The caller being so persistent in their pursuit to have our pet destroyed, continued to complain and even threatened to take it to court if necessary. This was obviously a very close neighbor or family member, as no one else would have known certain details about us, our habits and our home. Toshoba was quiet and spent most of her time either in her spacious 256 square foot pen or in our house.
Because of the harassment and the cost, that we could not justify to spend to prove our case, we felt there was no other choice than to put her down ourselves. She will be greatly missed. |

We are still dabbling in our taxidermy work, although limiting it to mammals only and limited euros. I am anxious to get started on some competition pieces as time and resources permit.
